What a successful Halloween!

This year was a historic Halloween for us. Because of the extreme weather conditions we got to celebrate over two nights instead of one! Well, I am not complaining! My kids love Halloween and they enjoy giving out candy just as much as they like going trick-or-treating.

This year, they were so happy to be able to do both on two separate nights! One thing is for sure, it was an absolute success!

I want to take a moment to say it was such a pleasure to see you all at my door with spooky costumes and trick-or-treat smiles!

October is officially over! In November, we are swapping the orange pumpkins for red glitter and Christmas Cheer!

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the current state of the housing market in the Saint-Laurent area.

In our final few months of 2019, active listings are down 28% from 4 months ago and prices are up 8% on average. This low volume of listings and high prices indicate an excellent seller’s market, especially considering year-over-year statistics which show a 30% decrease in active listings from 2018.

Breaking this down even further, the condominium market is the most seller-friendly as prices are up 11% on average and the number of active listings is down 38% just since this summer!

In addition to the price hikes and drop in active listings, homes are selling much faster than usual. The average time on the market has dropped significantly since this summer, with single-family homes seeing a 22% drop to 53 days and condominiums seeing a 33% drop to 60 days of average time on the market.

With prices high and market time low, it is very clear that the market is ripe for sellers. If you are thinking of putting your home on the market, don’t hesitate to contact me – the time to sell is now!
