If you are reading this, I hope you are doing well and staying safe in these uncertain times.

These past few months have turned our whole lives upside down. Worldwide, we have been struck by this devastating pandemic changing everything about our routines. This has allowed us to take a step back and look at our lives with a different perspective in order to adapt accordingly.

On that note, I must say that I am impressed with how amazing our community was able to come together for the greater good of our families, friends, loved ones, and the nation as a whole. Canada has shown a tremendous effort to help those in need and so have we.

On a more intimate level, we have connected more as individuals since our daily rushes have taken a serious nap. With kids out of school until September, we, as parents, have added teachers and round the clock babysitters to our schedules. Although some days are more difficult than others, this has undeniably brought our family closer together. We are having dinner together every night and are taking the time to play board games and get to know each other better. I have watched how creative, innovative, smart, entertaining, and loving my kids are! I knew all of this before from glimpses of their characters; but now, we have the full movie before our eyes.

Despite being physically distant with our friends and family, our Facetime and Zoom calls have become our gatherings and the new normal. Although some of it may be strange at times. I have never felt more in touch with the ones I love.

I also want to take a moment to thank all the essential workers for their dedication and tremendous efforts and hard work! We salute you.

In the end, we can always find the good within any situation and we have learned to appreciate the little things after all. I hope all of you are able to find the positive light in this once in a lifetime experience and look forward to the new world that is waiting for us after this pandemic is over.

Until then, safe home, stay safe, and stay connected!
